Strictly Speaking Competition

On Wednesday 12th June, Ananya, Emilia, Laiba headed to Lake Farm Park Academy for The Park Federation Strictly Speaking 2024 competition. The challenge was to present a 10 minute speech on the topic: ‘Disney films provide bad role models for children.’

Ananya, Emilia and Laiba co-wrote a brilliant speech and, with Miss Vivian, spent the last month using their spare time to learn, rehearse and perfect the delivery of their speech. 

The girls were really excited to perform their speech to the other contestants, parents, Mr Yates and members of staff from the other academies. The girls performed with enthusiasm and confidence, engaging the audience with every word. The teams were judged on the content of their speech, the quality of their delivery and engagement with the audience. 

After a nerve wracking wait whilst the judges made their decision, the girls were absolutely delighted to be chosen as the winners of the Strictly Speaking Competition 2024! 

Their success was thanks to their dedication, hard work and enthusiasm. We are so proud of their achievements and absolutely thrilled with the result.
