Dear Parents/ Carers,
We are continuing to learn about different celebrations. We were very pleased to welcome one of our parents into school to talk to the children about how their family celebrates Diwali. We enjoyed making bonfire pictures to mark Guy Fawkes night too.
We are continuing to revise the sounds learnt so far and focusing on blending them (to read) and segmenting them (to write). Please continue to practise these skills everyday at home as it makes a significant difference to the children's progress. Please ask if need any further guidance. There are no new sounds this week. We introduced the tricky words he and she last week and will be introducing we and me this week.
Last week we were focusing on ordering numbers to 10 (or 20). This week we are comparing the heights of different children and objects using the vocabulary taller, shorter (when comparing two items) and tallest, shortest (when comparing more than two items).
Please see the reading letter that was sent home in reading folder last week. Thank you for bringing the folder in every day. Library books need to be brought in on Monday so your child can choose a new book.
We look forward to welcoming parents to the Time to Read session on Wednesday morning. Every parent who stays will be provided with a token to exchange at the reception for a free book for their child to enjoy at home.
Thank you as always for your support.
