Highlights Last Week:

Maths: We returned to looking at shape. We described 2D shapes and found out about lines of symmetry in these shapes. We also looked at 3D shapes and how these are used in packaging. We looked at how shapes are similar and how they are different.
Topic: We designed our own chocolate bars and started to look at ideas for packaging. We learned about primary, secondary and complimentary colours and how these are used in packaging.
This week: Chocolate Day Thursday 24th May
English: We will be finding out about how chocolate is made and where it comes from.
Maths: We will be returning to look at reading scales. We will learn how to read scales showing various different measures including weight and capacity. We will also look at ordering measures and comparing them using the greater than and less than symbols.
Topic: We will be finding out about where chocolate comes from and locating these places on a world map. We will continue to look at complimentary colours and use these in our designs for our chocolate packaging. We will also have our chocolate day on Thursday where we will be completing lots of different activities including making our chocolate using our designs, chocolate tasting and making our packages.
